Edwardian Aquamarine and Diamond Necklace
This elegant aquamarine, seed pearl, diamond, and platinum fringe necklace is from the elegant era of the Edwardian period. At this time, circa 1910, women's clothing was beginning to be less structured and the jewelry reflected this, hence the fringe necklace.

Hand assembled by Edwardian era jewelers, this necklace features twenty-four spectacle/bezel set round brilliant cut diamonds; eleven pear-shaped briolette aquamarines, eighty-six round seed pearls, and a high polish finish platinum chain. The twelve larger diamonds measure approximately 3.7 3.60 x 2.19mm (depth estimate). Their approximate weight is 2.14 carats, the clarity of the stones is VS-1 to SI-2, and the color is J-K. The other twelve diamonds are smaller and measure 1.60 1.50 x 0.93mm (depth estimate). Their approximate weight is 0.16 carats, the clarity of the stones is SI-1 to I-1, and the color is J-K. The seed pearls have a white body color and measure approximately 2mm in width. The eleven dangling aquamarines weigh 16.70 carats, the clarity is VVS, type I, medium light, very slight grayish, greenish blue color, (GIA gB 4/3), and the cut is very good.

In summary, the total weight of the colored stones is 16.70 carats and the total weight of the diamonds is 2.30 carats. The hand-made chain necklace is platinum and is marked PL950. The total length of the necklace is 16 inches and it weighs 6 DWT.
